As part of EFG London Jazz Festival, Ladbroke Hall is excited to present an amazing mix of Afro-Cuban and Brazilian jazz, brought to life by two of thebest in the genre, the famous 3 time Grammy Award winning Afro-Cuban pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba, known for his impeccable technique, rhythmic innovation and who’s been called one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century, and the virtuoso Brazilian mandolinist Hamilton de Holanda, whose skill and creativity has revolutionised both the instrument and Brazilian music.
An electrifying fusion of Cuban and Brazilian musical traditions, this collab showcases the virtuosity and improvisational prowess of both musicians. Rubalcaba’s dynamic piano playing, deeply rooted in Afro-Cuban rhythms and jazz harmonies, intertwines with de Holanda’s dazzling bandolim technique, which draws from the rich tapestry of Brazilian music styles such as choro, samba, bossa nova and jazz.
